One Midlands automotive firm supported another in its drive to treat underprivileged children to a day out at a top theme park.
Online automotive software firm Cooper Solutions offered its support to East Midlands motor group, Sandicliffe as it prepared to raise funds to take 350 youngsters from across the East Midlands on a trip to Alton Towers.
Cooper Solutions pledged £360 to the Sandicliffe4Kidz project in order to support the fundraising efforts of the nine service departments at Sandicliffe, who the firm works closely with.
Barry Cooper, Managing Director at Cooper Solutions, said: “The Sandicliffe4Kidz project is an extremely worthwhile initiative and we were extremely keen to support it. We have worked closely with Sandicliffe for three years and we were more than happy to be able to support them in their charity endeavours as well as in a professional capacity. It sounds as if the trip was extremely well received and everyone at Cooper Solutions is delighted that we were able to play a part in bringing the experience to fruition for the children.”
Reg Tutt, Managing Director of Sandicliffe, said: “The original idea came from one of our team leaders, Terry Galloway, who was himself in care as a child. Terry wanted to put something back in to the community and asked myself and the owners of Sandicliffe if we could help him bring his idea to fruition. With the team on board, we were only too happy to help. Lots of people worked hard and well together to help raise awareness and enough money to pay for everything. This included the seven coaches, entry to the theme park and everyone’s food and drinks for the day. As well as parachute jumps, mountain bike rides and bake-offs, we asked our business partners to help and Cooper Solutions certainly did that. For this, everyone at Sandicliffe is extremely grateful. We also managed to run an auction on e-bay where the general public bid on items generously donated and all proceeds raised a further £1,600. It was a brilliant day for all concerned, especially the 350 kids and their Carers. Not even the wind and rain could dampen anyone’s spirits and that included the Sandicliffe support team who went along on the day."
