Cooper's Answer to DVLA Licence Changes

From 8th June 2015, the paper counterpart of a GB licence will no longer be a valid DVLA document and it will not be possible to rely upon it to show driver eligibility.

If you wish to know more about the DVLA changes, the government has provided information which outlines the way in which licences are changing. There are a number of ways that driving licences can be checked with the DVLA. For an online solution, dealers can use the “Share My Licence” service - click here to see a video of how the process works. As an alternative, it is still possible to contact the DVLA’s premium rate “Driver Check” telephone line. More information (including call charges) can be found on the DVLA website here.

For loans insured using Cooper Solutions daily rate insurance, we’re excited to announce that our FullCover fleet management system will utilise a new online licence checking service, which will provide an easy, quick and no-cost solution to driving licence checks. More information will be coming soon, but we anticipate that this service will significantly reduce the amount of time and cost spent by dealerships dealing with this new legislation, and should represent a much more efficient method for conducting licence checks.
