A landmark number of dealers have signed up to a web-based system designed to meet national HMRC requirements.
More than 200 franchise dealerships are now using Cooper Solutions’ FullCompliance system to help their staff track all company vehicle usage, mileage and fuel use.
To proactively comply with HMRC legislation and avoid exposure to significant financial penalties, accounting for all vehicle and driver activity is a must.
We have seen a surge of dealers start using FullCompliance over the last 12 months.
Dean Pipitone, Director at Cooper Solutions, said: “The harsh reality is, when the tax man comes calling, if dealerships cannot provide comprehensive and accurate evidence of company vehicle and fuel usage they could face fines in the six-figure region. Ignorance is not an excuse and the onus of proof is on the dealership and employees, not HMRC. If you cannot account for every mile driven in every vehicle the consequences can be financially devastating.”
Dealerships using FullCompliance include some of the largest in the country where fleets are in excess of 100 courtesy and demonstrator vehicles.
Pipitone added: “It can be very challenging for dealerships to maintain comprehensive records, particularly for those with such large numbers of employees and company vehicles. We’ve been regularly adding new efficiency features to FullCompliance over the last 12 months, including a mobile version of the software for use on smart phone and tablet devices.
