Going the Extra Mile

The team at Cooper Solutions is going the extra mile - vertically and horizontally - to boost local charities.

And not content with just skydiving from 10,000 ft and cycling hundreds of miles, our staff has also signed up to battle through mud and freezing water at the Wolf Run.

We have a history of taking on daring and gruelling challenges to support good causes – and this summer and autumn is no different.

First up in June, two teams of riders are racing along the 380 miles Coast to Coast cycle route between the westernmost town in Wales and the easternmost town in England to raise funds for The Shakespeare Hospice.

The Race 2 Base challenge will see one team cycling from St David’s, and another from Lowestoft, with both finishing 190 miles away at The Shakespeare Hospice in Stratford-upon-Avon.

A month later, a four-strong Cooper Solutions team will be jumping from the sky at Brackley Airfield, also in aid of the independent charity which provides specialist care for families affected by life limiting illness in South Warwickshire and the North Cotswolds.

After resting up in August, an eight-strong team will be back out in the field again and tackling the 10k mud, trail and obstacle course at the Wolf Run in September.

And the team shouldn’t be short of energy ahead of the string of challenges after enjoying the fruits of each other’s handy work in the kitchen.

The company completed Myton Hospice’s Take 50 challenge which involves teams taking £50 and turning it into as much as they can in 50 days. Staff baked numerous cakes and sold them in the Cooper Solutions office – raising £214 in the process.

Barry Cooper, Managing Director of Cooper Solutions, said: “We are always trying to come up with different ways we can help support the tremendous work of the charities on our doorstep. We’ve been inspired by the fantastic work The Shakespeare Hospice and Myton Hospice do, and we’re pleased so many of our team have got on board with the various challenges to help make a difference. There’s going to be some tired bodies around, but it is always that little bit easier when you are all in it together and we’re looking forward to the challenges ahead and to raising as much as we can.”
